AJAY'S SINGHAM RETURNS ROARS WITH A GREAT SUCCESS CROSSING 50 CR IN 2 DAYS..AHEAD KICKK OF SALMAN

Ajay Devgn’s Singham Returns is doing a giant roar at box office and within two days of its release, the flick has collected Rs 53.14 cr nett in India.

The flick capitalized heavily on Independence Day since it was a national holiday and claimed a smashing opening day record of the year. Beating some of the Bollywood’s biggest openers like Kick (Rs 26.40 cr), Krissh (Rs 25.5 cr), Agneepath (Rs 23 cr) Dabangg (Rs 21.60 cr) and other Singham Returns is the fourth biggest opener of all time after Dhoom 3 (Rs 36.22 cr), Chennai Express (Rs 33.12 cr) and Ek Tha Tiger (Rs 32.93 cr).

But witnessed a huge decline of around 40 % on Saturday where it collected Rs 21.05 cr. The decline in its collection was expected but not with such a massive rate.

It could be recalled that Kick’s business on its first Saturday grew from Rs 26.50 cr to Rs 27.15 cr while on Sunday it went on to mint Rs 30.18 cr (Rs 83.82 cr weekend total). A big total is expected again today from Singham Returns which should take its weekend total to around Rs 80 cr. 

Looking at overseas, the Rohit Shetty’s directorial continued to do a rock-steady business. In UAE-GCC, the flick made brilliant Rs 2.66 cr nett.

“SinghamReturns continues its victory march in UAE-GCC. Thu AED 750,000, Fri AED 850,000. Total: AED 1,600,000 [Rs 2.66 cr]. EXCELLENT!”, tweets Adarsh.

Running with a show or two in selected theatres and multiplexes, the Salman Khan starrer on its fourth Friday managed Rs 53 lacs taking its 22 days collection to Rs 229.65 cr nett in Inda. 

“Kick [Week 4] Fri 53 lacs. Grand total: Rs 229.65 cr nett. India biz. ALL TIME BLOCKBUSTER!”, confirms Adarsh.

On the other hand, the last week’s release Entertainment starring Akshay Kumar did a decent collection on its second Friday and Saturday fetching Rs 5.99 cr nett in India.

“Entertainment [Week 2] Fri 3.52 cr, Sat 2.47 cr. Grand total: Rs 62.49 cr nett. India biz”, wrote Adarsh.

This year Salman Khan’s Kick rules with its two days collection of Rs 53.65 cr nett in India while looking at all time collection its Dhoom 3 reining the charts with Rs 69.58 cr while Chennai Express takes second spot with Rs 61.15 cr.
