Hundreds of disgruntled police officers in Mexico's Tabasco state skirmished against each other Sunday (March 16) demanding a salary raise and better working conditions on the job.
The angry group of police are demanding that Villahermosa's town Police Chief, Audomaro Martinez Zapata, an ex-army general who took the job in 2012 step down from his post.
Villahermosa's Deputy Police Director, Antonio Zacarias Arias, was beaten and marched out of the police headquarters yard along with a number of his fellow police officers allegedly loyal to Zapata according to the striking police.
